Homestead Happenings

When I decided to start this blog, I had great intentions of writing from the moment our feet hit the ground in Idaho.  However, as you can see, that didn't happen.  So, what has been happening in the 5 weeks since we've landed at F3?

The first few weeks we were here were spent unpacking.  While our new home is about the same square footage as the one we left, the space is much different, making moving in a bit more challenging.  Our bedrooms are of different dimensions, so we've had to get clever with our furniture and storage spaces.  We currently do not have any outbuildings, and so all the garage and attic items are either on our porch or in our storage/pantry room.   My OCD is constantly twitching with dreams of barns, garages, and abundant space in which to store and organize our junk.   Eventually, those things will happen...

We've also had time to explore some of the surrounding areas.  We were quite pleasantly surprised to find that a small reservoir is only 5 minutes from our home.  We've spent time there swimming (GASP! It's COOOOOLD!), and Mr. Farmer Man and the Farm Kids have also been fishing there with much luck with the Rainbow Trout.  YUM!

We've found our new church home, and met many, many kind and helpful people.  We've also already made some great friends, as well as met many other homeschoolers.  We've found fun new things to do, and outdoorsy ways to keep ourselves busy.

We have several projects that need to get accomplished before winter comes, and while it's hard to think of those things when it's 99 degrees outside, we know that the snow will fly sooner than we're ready for it.

Until next time, my friends, be blessed!
